Special Notice to Parents

Our goal to make this a safe site for children to learn while engaging in fun activities. We strongly encourage you to participate with them, help them with the activities, and mutually share your feelings and thoughts about the activities. We also encourage you to "surf the web" together with your children so that it can become a force for uniting families.

The following statements outline our policy on collecting information through our child-oriented pages.

1. We do allow children to send us stories, drawings and other creative products, sometimes as entries to contests. If your child provides an e-mail address along with those or other messages sent to us, we will use that e-mail address only for responses directly related to the child's submission or message. For instance, we would use the e-mail address to inform the child if he or she were the winner of a contest. We will not use the e-mail address for any future unrelated messages.

2. When children whom we know are under the age of thirteen submit contest materials electronically, we require that they also supply your e-mail address. You can help us enforce this policy by always knowing how and where your child is surfing and impressing upon them the importance of following the rules. They and you should also know that we will need your e-mail address to inform you in the event that your child is a contest winner. We will use your e-mail address to collect your permission offline (by postal mail, fax or phone) before we mail any prizes or share your child's information with anyone else. As with your child's e-mail address, we will use yours only for communication relevant to the specific activity or contest, and will not use it for any future unrelated messages.

3. We may post on our web site stories, drawings and other creative products submitted by children, but we will identify the children only by first name, age and state/country.

4. We will not share e-mail addresses or other personally identifying information with any third parties.

5. The web is a big place. There will always be links between creativityforyou.com and other sites over which we have no control. Although we make an effort to ensure that no material unsuitable for children is linked to our site, it is possible that you will encounter something objectionable. If you do, please let us know immediately by sending a message with as many details as possible to cleanitup@creativityforyou.com.

6. As with all pages in the creativityforyou.com domain, we automatically store non-personally identifying information, such as the IP address of the visting browser and date and time of visit. We use this only for statistical purposes and do not share this information with third parties.

7. We will try to help your child become a safe web surfer by encouraging him or her to read some important tips for safe surfing. You can help by reading and discussing these tips and any other safe surfing information you can find with your child. Following these tips, or any others can not guarantee your child's safety, but they should help. Remember: Your child's safety on the web depends heavily on your continued involvement.

Tips for Safe Web Surfing

1. Read and discuss these and other safety tips with your parents.

2. Always let your parents know when you'll be using the web and what sites you're visiting. Invite them to surf with you. Sharing your visits to web sites with them is not only safer, it can be a lot more fun.

3. Never send personally identifying information, such as your e-mail address, full name, street address, or telephone number to strangers, even if you've "met" them through the web.

4. Never agree to meet anyone in person whom you've only met through the web or e-mail.

5. If anyone whom you've only met through the web or e-mail asks you to meet him or her, tell your parents or other responsible adult immediately.

6. Never respond to e-mail unless you know it's from a trusted friend, relative, parent, guardian, or teacher. If you have any doubts, check with an adult you trust before responding.
